What is the test format of the ielts?

The IELTS test format consists of four sections: Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking. The Listening, Reading, and Writing sections are all completed on the same day, with no breaks in between, and the Speaking section may be completed on the same day or up to a week before or after the other sections. The Listening section consists of four parts and is 30 minutes long. It includes a variety of question types, such as multiple choice, matching, and gap-fill. The Reading section consists of three passages and is 60 minutes long. The passages are taken from academic texts and include a variety of question types, such as multiple choice, short answer, and sentence completion. The Writing section consists of two tasks and is 60 minutes long. Task 1 requires test takers to describe visual information, such as a graph or chart, while Task 2 requires them to write an essay in response to a prompt. The Speaking section consists of three parts and is 11-14 minutes long. It is a one-on-one interview with a certified IELTS examiner and includes a variety of question types, such as personal questions, opinion-based questions, and hypothetical scenarios.
